This powerhouse packs a whopping 3024Wh capacity and can deliver up to 3000W of continuous power, so you can run almost anything from your fridge to lights and even some heavier gear.

The whole setup is surprisingly portable for its size, with an ergonomic design that makes moving it around easier than you’d expect. You can even monitor and control it through an app, so you always know how much juice you have left or how fast it’s charging.

🗣️ petra

I used the Jackery during a hurricane power outage and it was a lifesaver. It powered two big deep freezers, two fridges, and some lights for a long time without any issues. It’s a bit heavy but still easy enough to store and bring along for camping trips. Definitely recommend if you want peace of mind during emergencies.

🗣️ DJRoberts54

The fast charging is a game changer. I charged the unit to full in under 2 hours and ran my 25 cubic foot refrigerator for over 27 hours straight. The app is super handy for monitoring battery life and charging status remotely. It’s a solid, well-designed product that’s perfect for camping or backup power.

🗣️ shannon avera

I’ve put the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 through its paces running everything from power tools like a skill saw and router to my full-size fridge and even a smoker grill. It handled all of it without breaking a sweat, and it’s way easier to move around than lugging a gas generator. It did struggle a bit with the table saw and air compressor, but it bounced back quickly. Overall, it’s been a great balance of portability and power for my outdoor projects.

🗣️ basil_

I was torn between the Ecoflow Delta 2 and the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2, but the Jackery won me over. It’s $50 cheaper, lighter, and has a bigger battery capacity. I especially like that the AC outlets are upfront, which makes plugging things in during emergencies way more convenient. The charging speeds surprised me too — after some initial slow charging, it really kicks into gear and fills up fast. Plus, it’s quieter than my other power station, which is a nice bonus.

Anker SOLIX F2000

Anker SOLIX F2000

When you’re planning a family camping trip, having a reliable power source can make all the difference. The Anker SOLIX F2000 Portable Power Station is like your trusty sidekick, ready to keep your devices, lights, and even some appliances running smoothly. It packs a hefty 2400W output with a battery that’s designed to last over 10 years, so you’re covered for many adventures to come. What’s cool is how fast it charges — you can get up to 80% in just about an hour and a half.

Plus, it’s got wheels and a telescoping handle, making it easier to move around than you’d expect for something this powerful. Whether you’re camping, dealing with a power outage, or just want peace of mind on the road, this powerhouse has your back.

What People Say

People love how this power station handles everything from small gadgets to bigger appliances without fuss. The fast charging and quiet operation stand out, and the portability features like wheels and a handle make it surprisingly easy to take along. It’s a solid choice whether you’re camping, prepping for emergencies, or just want reliable power on the go.

🗣️ Dustin

First off Anker is the only brand. Now that that’s out of the way let’s talk about this power bank. In the words of OutKast, this thing is a hoss stallion with skates on. It will do anything you throw at it. From running your favorite appliance to running a TV and game console. You name it, the Anker Powerhouse will do it. It makes camping a lot less like camping and a lot more like being at home with an amazing view. I wish I could do video reviews of their products. I would love to have the Anker solix solar panels to go with this unit so I could get that extended outdoor life. Maybe one day I will start a YouTube channel and do reviews because I am a country boy with a lot of toys and this Anker power bank runs all those toys.

🗣️ Patrick L. Mccabe

Unlike so many manufacturer claims, this F2000 with the additional 760 extension battery is in fact all it’s claimed to be. I waited for a few months to rate it, mainly to be sure it actually works as stated… now after two short power outages, I can say it does. With virtually nothing to assemble or set up, quick charging and 4096 Wh life, it kept my refrigerator running during one power outage, and my central gas furnace running during another without a hitch. It is designed for easy use, takes up little room and while it is no lightweight rig, the wheels and handle make it easy to move about. No, it won’t keep a refrigerator or furnace running for more than about 7 hours, but when it’s in the 20s outside, it allows my furnace to run and keep my home warm during short (a few hours) power outages. The bonus is that I don’t need a gas powered generator with associated headaches that comes with a generator, and that for me is a major selling point.

Definitely a solid choice if you want dependable power without the noise of a gas generator.

🗣️ Robert M

After a hurricane, I relied on this to keep my space heater and a small AC unit running. It drained the battery as expected but worked great for what I needed. The fridge ran without any issues too. I do wish I had gotten the 200W solar panel kit instead of the 100W, but overall it’s a very good product that’s been a lifesaver during outages.

CORE 12 Person Tent

CORE 12 Person Tent

If you’re planning a family camping trip and need a tent that can comfortably fit everyone without feeling cramped, the CORE 12 Person Tent is definitely worth a look. It’s designed like a little cabin with nearly straight walls and a high ceiling, so you can actually stand up and move around without bumping your head.

The tent measures 16 by 11 feet and can fit three queen-sized air mattresses, making it roomy enough for up to 12 people if you’re packing light, or 6 people with gear. It’s built to handle typical 3-season weather with a fully taped rainfly and sealed seams, so you won’t have to worry about unexpected showers ruining your trip. Plus, it comes with a handy room divider to create two separate spaces, which is great if you want a bit of privacy or need to keep kids and adults apart. Setting it up takes a bit of effort, but the color-coded poles and clear instructions make it manageable, especially if you have a partner to help.

Whether you’re heading out for a weekend getaway or a longer family adventure, this tent offers a solid mix of space, weather protection, and thoughtful features that make camping more comfortable.

What People Say

People love how roomy and well-ventilated this tent is, especially for families or groups. It’s praised for standing up well to rain and storms, and the cabin-style design makes camping feel more comfortable and less cramped.

🗣️ Erica

We’ve had this tent for about two years now and have been really happy with it. It’s relatively quick to put up given its size, and it’s stayed dry even in downpours. There are three of us plus a Great Dane who use it, and it feels very spacious – we place three twin-size air mattresses and a large dog bed along the edges and still have lots of room for gear and plenty of open floor space to use in the middle. The curtain that separates the tent into two “rooms” is useful when the dog is wet and we want to limit her to one side. The high ceiling makes it feel more like a small cabin than a tent, so it’s a comfortable place to hang out when the weather takes a turn. Although it’s got a large footprint, we’ve never had trouble setting it up at even smallish tent sites. I do wish there were more hanging pocket around the edges for things like glasses and flashlights, and the zipper covers can make it a bit of a struggle to quickly open the door at times, but those are minor things. We’re overall really happy with our choice and would definitely recommend this tent.

🗣️ Samantha Hessling

Tent kept us completely dry through almost 5 straight days of heavy rain and big storms. There was a short dry spell on day 3 that did let us shake off the rain fly and reset a bit. There were a couple of drops that made it past the rain fly onto the outside of the tent on that Day 3, but nothing got inside the tent itself. The double vestibules were awesome, loved the flexibility they allowed. Set-up was easy as these big cabin tents go. This is my third tent of this size and the first to come with the side stabilizing poles which definitely helped tremendously during the big storm gusts. The tent stakes could use an upgrade, the room divider was sort of useless. But altogether this is the best two room cabin tents I’ve had so far.

The Montana’s 7-foot center height meant my husband could stand up without ducking, and there was room for two queen air mattresses plus gear without feeling cramped. The ventilation was great with three roll-down windows, and the rainfly kept us dry during heavy rain. Setup was simple enough that my 9-year-old could help, which made it less stressful. Overall, it’s held up well on multiple trips and feels like a solid investment for casual family camping.

🗣️ Carla A

This was my first real family tent purchase, and it’s been great for our trips. It fits four people comfortably with air mattresses, and the headroom is a big plus. Setup took a little getting used to, but once you understand how the poles connect, it’s pretty quick. The tent stood strong in windy conditions where others around us collapsed, and it kept us dry during rain. Packing it back up was tricky at first, but I learned the trick with the poles to roll it tight. Definitely a good tent for beginners and families.

I haven’t fully tested this tent yet, but setting it up was a breeze—just a minute or two on my own. It’s roomy enough for my dog and cat, and I love that the poles lock in place, which my old tent didn’t have. We had some rain and wind on a move across Kansas, and this tent held up without collapsing like my last one. The only thing I’m a bit wary of is the zipper placement at the corner, which might leave a tiny gap, but overall it feels sturdy and well thought out.

We’ve used this tent through some pretty rough weather—a severe thunderstorm with lightning, heavy rain, and 45-50 mph winds—and it didn’t budge or leak a drop. Setup and takedown are super easy, and it’s roomy enough for our gear and family. If you want a practical, reliable tent that won’t break the bank, this is a solid choice.

Once we identified which poles went where, the process was quick and easy. The tent is incredibly spacious. I was able to fit two queen mattresses inside, placing them at opposite ends, with plenty of room left in the middle. The privacy screen was a great feature—I appreciated that it could be adjusted for partial or full coverage, allowing my kids to still see me. The interior hooks were another thoughtful touch, perfect for hanging small solar lanterns. The tent held up well during a windy night. Despite swaying and being hit by branches from a nearby bush, the structure felt sturdy and reliable. Packing it away solo was a bit of a challenge. Having a second person to help with folding would have made the process much easier. Overall, this tent is spacious, durable, and family-friendly, with a few minor considerations for setup and takedown.

I love this thing. I purchased it in May. My fiance helped me put it up in the yard, and although you do need two people to do so, it’s not very difficult, and the video helped a ton. It’s held up extremely well. I’m going to be taking it down for the winter because of the snow, but it has done well against wind and rain over the months since it’s been in our yard. It’s pretty massive, and I at 5’4 can stand up no problem inside of it. I would recommend it to a family or group of people for sure. Plenty of room and windows, and hooks to hang lights on.

Happy Travel 4 Person Tent

Happy Travel 4 Person Tent

If you’re planning a family camping trip and want something that’s easy to carry and quick to set up, this Happy Travel 4 Person Tent is worth a look. It’s got a bit more headroom than your average dome tent, so you won’t feel like you’re constantly crouching inside. The size fits a queen air mattress comfortably along with some gear, and it can even squeeze in a fifth person if needed. What’s really nice is the large mesh panels on three sides, which keep the air flowing and give you a great view of the outdoors — perfect for stargazing when you take off the rainfly at night.

The waterproof fabric and sturdy fiberglass poles mean it can handle a bit of rain and wind, and the removable rainfly adds extra protection and shade during the day. Plus, there’s a handy electrical access port if you want to plug in a fan or a small cooler.

It’s lightweight and packs down small, so you won’t dread lugging it around. Whether you’re hitting the trails or just camping in the backyard, this tent balances comfort, ventilation, and portability in a way that makes your trip more enjoyable.

What People Say

Campers appreciate how easy this tent is to set up and take down, especially with two people. The ventilation and mesh windows get a lot of praise for keeping things fresh and offering great views. Some mention the fly doesn’t cover the front mesh fully, but a tarp can fix that. Overall, it’s seen as a durable, comfortable tent that’s great for small families or couples.

We just got this and love it! It will hold a queen blow up but it will be snug, 2 cots or a full is recommended if you want room for your luggage. Setup was a breeze, 2 people can have it up in about 10 minutes. The material feels better than your typical kids tent, and the zippers work smoothly with no sticking. The floor liner is thicker than most, which I really appreciate. The dome mesh goes halfway down the tent except in front, allowing a nice breeze and a great view of the starry night. The only downside is the fly doesn’t cover the front mesh fully, so you might want a tarp for extra rain protection. Overall, a great size for the price and very functional.

I got it on sale at a great price and it’s held up well so far. Definitely recommend it if you want a simple, no-fuss tent that still offers good protection and space.

FAQ

What Should You Consider When Choosing a Tent For Your Family Camping Trip?

When picking a tent for your family camping trip, you want to think about the size and how many people it can comfortably fit, including your gear. Look for tents with multiple rooms or dividers if you want some privacy or separate sleeping areas.

Weather resistance is key, so check the waterproof rating and whether it has a reliable rainfly to keep you dry. Also, consider how easy it is to set up and take down, especially if you’re new to camping or have kids helping out.

Ventilation matters too, so tents with mesh windows and good airflow will keep things comfortable. Lastly, think about the weight and portability if you’ll be hiking to your site, or durability if you’re car camping and want something sturdy.

How Can You Make Sure Your Tent Stays Dry and Comfortable During Rainy Weather?

To keep your tent dry during rain, make sure you properly stake it down and use the rainfly fully, securing all the guy lines. Setting up on a slight slope or using a footprint tarp underneath can help prevent water pooling and protect the tent floor.

Ventilation is important too, so open mesh windows or vents to reduce condensation inside. If you’re worried about leaks, applying a seam sealer before your trip can add extra protection.

Also, avoid opening the tent door during heavy rain to keep water out. With these steps, you’ll stay cozy and dry even if the weather turns.

Are Instant or Pop-Up Tents Better For Family Camping Trips?

Instant or pop-up tents can be a great choice if you want quick and easy setup, especially when camping with kids or if you’re new to pitching tents. They usually take just a minute or two to get up, which means more time to relax and enjoy your trip.

However, they might be heavier and sometimes less durable than traditional tents with poles. Also, they can be pricier. If you prioritize convenience and speed, an instant tent is worth considering. But if you want something lighter for backpacking or more customizable, a traditional tent might suit you better.

Think about your camping style and how much time you want to spend setting up when making your choice.

Wrapping Up

Choosing the right tent is key to a successful family camping trip. From roomy multi-room cabins to lightweight dome tents, the options here provide comfort, protection, and convenience for your outdoor adventures. By investing in a tent that fits your family’s size and camping style, you can focus on making memories without worrying about shelter.

With these 13 must-have tents, you’re well-equipped to enjoy nature with ease and confidence.
